Frequently Asked Questions
At Forever Friends, we encourage you to ask questions and to contact us with any concerns before, during, or after your loss.
FAQs
The loss of a pet is not only painful, it can also be confusing for many owners. For your convenience, we offer the following answers to some of our most commonly asked questions.
What happens after my pet dies naturally or is euthanized?
If you choose to have your pet cremated, his or her body will arrive at our facility, where it will be kept until the time of cremation. You may opt for a private or communal cremation.
Ashes may vary in consistency and color. Items such as collars and tags may melt and become integrated into the ashes. Parts that do not melt are left with the ashes.
Remains are returned in a decorative wooden urn, which is placed in a cardboard box for safe transport.
How do I know I’m getting my pet’s ashes back?
Each pet receives a numbered stainless steel disk that stays with your pet throughout the entire process. The disk will be returned with the ashes.
What special services do you accommodate?
We are often asked to cremate collars, leashes, or blankets, collect hair clippings, or transfer ashes to a special container. We’re happy to perform any of these services. Simply contact us with your request, and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
Can I visit your facility in advance?
At Forever Friends, we’re happy to meet with you beforehand to show you around and to discuss what you can expect. Simply contact us to schedule an appointment.
Can I be present at the time of cremation?
You and your family are welcome to come to our facility the day of the cremation to say your final goodbye in private.
Do you provide any religious services?
Forever Friends does not provide any religious services. However, we welcome people of all faiths and respect any customs or practices you may wish to perform. We will be as accommodating as possible to any customs.
How much will it cost to cremate my pet?
Because the cost of cremation varies depending on the size of the pet, we ask that owners contact us for detailed pricing information. Please know the financial burden of pet cremation is often considerably less than that of human cremation, so don’t rule out options before speaking with someone at Forever Friends.
